About us

Founded in 1997 in Bellevue, Washington, O’Bunco Engineering International Inc. (OEI) is a Pacific Northwest-based consortium offering engineering, surveying, construction, architecture, and project management services. With over 25 years of industry experience, OEI combines innovative thinking and advanced technologies to deliver impactful, sustainable infrastructure solutions—serving communities today and for generations to come.

We take pride in our ability to balance visionary concepts with the technical precision necessary to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable projects. This commitment is reflected in our work on landmark initiatives such as the SR 520 Pontoon Construction in Aberdeen and the Port of Tacoma, the Brightwater Treatment Plant (King County’s largest infrastructure project), and the Howard Hanson Dam Safety Improvements.

Led by Samuel Obunike, PE, and supported by a dedicated team with more than 100 years of combined experience, OEI is a 100% minority-owned firm with a proven track record across Washington State and beyond. We have successfully completed complex projects for clients across the corporate, private, institutional, public, and nonprofit sectors. Our portfolio includes infrastructure projects such as tunnels, roads, bridges, transit systems, water and sewer lines, solid waste facilities, universities, healthcare institutions, housing developments, K-12 schools, and sports facilities including Safeco Field.

Our deep understanding of local regulations, design codes, and construction practices allows us to navigate complex projects with precision and compliance. As an engaged member of the Pacific Northwest business community, OEI actively collaborates with both large and small firms, with a focus on shaping the region’s future through sustainable development and infrastructure innovation.
